David Beatty is an experienced Corporate Advisor who has worked on assignments for numerous industries including retail, wholesale, manufacturing, health, rural and retirement.

In 1996, with Michael Naphtali, he founded Hindal Corporate, specializing in Corporate Advisory and Merger and Acquisition services to the high-end and small-cap company markets. When Credit Suisse acquired Hindal Corporate in 2008, David joined them as an Executive Director until his retirement in 2013. In 2013 David and Michael re-launched Hindal Corporate, forming an affiliation with FTI Consulting. Hindal Corporate continues to provide key advice to its clients in a range of core business areas.

David holds directorships and advisory roles with many privately owned Australian family businesses. He has also played an active role in the community by holding positions on many not-for-profit boards. Prior to forming Hindal Corporate, David spent 27 years with chartered accounting firm Arthur Andersen, and was an International Partner for 16 years. During this time, David provided financial consulting services to medium-to-large companies and was involved in many significant merger and, acquisition and divestment transactions. David was also in charge of a number of corporate reconstructions through Administrations and Receiverships during this period.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow (FCPA) of CPA Australia and a Member (FCA) of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (formerly known as the Institute of Chartered Accountants). David is also a Member (MAICD) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Michael’s outstanding commercial experience and his ability to find original solutions for clients is widely recognized in the business community. Michael was Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Pratt Group for many years. He has also been a Director with Hill Samuel, the predecessor to Macquarie Bank. Michael started his own consultancy operation, Hind Consulting and Investment Pty Ltd in the early 1990s catering to the needs of predominantly large private clients – strategy, financing succession, acquisitions, asset disposal and capital raising projects.

In 1996 Michael founded Hindal Corporate with David Beatty. His work expanded as Hindal became sought after as an innovative and trusted boutique corporate advisory service. When in 2008 Hindal was acquired by Credit Suisse, Michael joined them as Executive Director. Since the re-launch of Hindal Corporate in 2013, Michael has worked closely with David Beatty but has also continued in his role as Executive Director with Credit Suisse.

Michael’s involvement in many community and charitable activities was recognized in 2003 when he was awarded a Centenary Medal for services to the Jewish community and to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. In the 2008 Australia Day honours he received an AM for service to the community through executive roles with environmental, educational, sporting and Jewish organisations. Michael has a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Monash University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Debbie manages all aspects of Hindal Corporate’s administration. She has worked as Executive Assistant to David Beatty since 2004, providing him with confidential secretarial and administrative services that has ensured the smooth running of his offices at Credit Suisse, FTI Consulting and at Hindal Corporate. She has a good understanding of Hindal clients and their businesses, and has built strong relationships with them and their support staff. Her responsibilities include responding to enquiries, liaising with clients and contacts at all levels, coordinating appointments, organizing and planning for meetings, company research and accounting.

Prior to joining Hindal Corporate, Debbie provided administrative services to a number of senior executives in private and multinational companies within the corporate advisory, manufacturing and resources sectors. Debbie has a Diploma in Business Management.
